Last month Dave, Ryan, Alyssa, Kai, and I went to Disney World for Kai's very 1st time! We flew to Orlando on Sunday, April 3rd and checked into our 2 bedroom room at the Bay Lake Tower. We had a gorgeous view of the Magic Kingdom, Seven Seas Lagoon, and the other MK resorts. We spent our first full day at the Magic Kingdom on Monday. Kai rode Pirates of the Caribbean and the Jungle Cruise and loved looking around. We went back to the resort in the afternoon for a rest and some pool time, which Kai loved...a true water baby! We went back to the Magic Kingdom for awhile in the afternoon, but Kai was starting to tucker out.
Tuesday was Epcot day. We rode the monorail over, which is always fun. The skies were dark and threatening and Ryan and Alyssa were hoping for a good ol' thunderstorm. When we got to Epcot, we got fast passes for Soarin' and headed over to Test Track. Dave, Ryan, and Alyssa rode the attraction while I kept on eye on Kai. Ryan and Alyssa then headed over to Mission Space as the skies became even darker. Dave suggested Kai and I head over to the Soarin' pavilion before it started raining. Before we got partially over, the skies opened and it started pouring buckets. I ran with the stroller for cover and waited for the others to join up. We all went on the Nemo attraction and Spaceship Earth. Thankfully, the thunderstorm didn't last too long and by late morning/early afternoon was clearing up. We took a stroll around the World Showcase and I got greetings for Caleb from the native cast members at each pavilion.
Wednesday was our "day off" from the parks and we left our stay at Bay Lake Tower and headed over to the Animal Kingdom Villas. We had just checked in and had settled into our room, when we got the call about Caleb (more about that on a previous post). As we waited for more details to come forth, we went to lunch at Saana, a true African- inspired restaurant. Later, we all went to the pool and had a fun time watching Kai play in the water. When we got the update about Caleb, we all made the decision to leave Disney World early to come home and support the Hancock family.
We are looking forward to more family vacations with the young Ness and Hancock families!
