My Almost 50th Birthday!

Dave and Melissa, my ever creative family members, decided awhile ago that they wanted to throw a 50th birthday party for me in the summer. The reasons being that 1. the weather is a whole lot warmer than in December and 2. December birthday celebrations = uber busy time of year. The date they chose was August 28th and the theme was centered around the beach (one of the places I love!) They pulled together an incredible, beautiful, tasty birthday celebration!! I was so beyond impressed and blessed! Dave took care of the majority of the food - beef, salmon, salads, etc. and Melissa was the baker extraordinaire. Her homemade cupcakes were a thing of delight and beauty! She was also the decorating designer and organizer. Many family and friends came to help me celebrate my upcoming milestone birthday, making the thought of turning 50 not so bad after all! Even two of my dear childhood friends - Carol (Clothier) Kitano and Susan Snyder - came from Seattle. It was so extra special having them attend as we don't see each other as often as I'd like! All in all, what could be better than having friends and loved ones around!
