Aloha Hawaii - Aulani Style!

We spent spring break at the breathtaking Disney Aulani Resort in Ko Olina, Hawaii (westward side of Oahu). From the moment we stepped into the open air lobby, we were captivated by the beauty of the resort - inside and out. So much attention to details, you had to look all around you - including up and down - to really catch things. Those aboard for our Hawaiian adventure (besides us!) were Melissa, Kyle, Caleb, Ryan, Alyssa, Kai, and Wayne and Gayle (Kyle's folks). We all had oceanview rooms with an added bonus of a sweeping view of the pool area. The little guys had so much fun, as evidenced by their big grins, going around the huge lazy river! There was also a great kids hangout - Aunty's Beach House - with plenty of things to keep even toddlers busy and occupied. Even though children had to be 3 or older to be left there with a counselor, every morning from 8-10, they had an open house time where adults could bring kids of all ages to enjoy the toys and playground equipment. Dave called the resort before we arrived and talked to someone about Caleb's situation. They went above and beyond to make it an extra special celebration with sweet treats, a Duffy bear, and personalized signed Mickey picture. Alyssa arranged for family pictures to be taken by Nicole Seu of Studio 3511. Nicole did a beautiful job and even had our CD of almost 300 pictures ready for us before we left for home. It has been a year of ups and downs, but our trip to Aulani was a cherry on the sundae!
