Yesterday was not only Melissa's last final (7 total!!), but she is now officially a college graduate! She completed her degree in elementary education at Corban College in Salem, Oregon with a terrific G.P.A. and happily headed home to start her new life and adventure. We celebrated with a family dinner at Olive Garden, just the 4 of us. It's been awhile since we've had an outing with our little family and we had a great time of laughter and fun. When we came home we watched one of our all-time favorite Christmas movies - "Elf".
Today Melissa had an interview with the Boys and Girls Club to be a program supervisor at Orchard Heights (where I teach) after school starting in January and she got the job! They even gave her the highest wage, since she has a college degree. That degree has already come in handy! Hopefully, this will be a step in the door for her getting a teaching job in the not-so-distant future.
