Kyle proposed to Melissa on Sunday in a romantic, never-to-be-forgotten way! The Hancocks and Nesses went to Disneyland to witness this wonderful event. It was supposed to happen on Saturday the 20th during the fireworks show, but winds in the higher elevations and a couple of other goofy occurences kept it from happening that night. On to "Plan B." Sunday night we scoped out a place to watch the fireworks on Main Street. While Melissa and Melanie were in the bakery, Kyle went to see if he could find a photographer to take pictures of the proposal. The girls returned before Kyle. After a short bit the fireworks started, but no Kyle. Those of us who knew it was going to happen were wondering what was happening. Soon Kyle contacted Melanie and said a Disney cast member had a special spot for us to watch the fireworks. By the time we got to the spot, the show was almost over. After the fireworks show, a cast member let Kyle take Melissa under the roped off area in front of the castle. When Melissa figured out what was happening, she started crying and shaking. Kyle said some sweet things to Melissa (which we couldn't hear since we were on the other side of the rope!), then got down on his knee and presented her with a glass slipper engraved with lyrics from one of her favorite songs and the open ring box on top. The crowd cheered! It was truly something I will never forget and I know she definitely won't either! Also, Disney gave them a gorgeous Jim Shore Cinderella coach (that I later saw in the gift shop for $150!)
