I found out this weekend that Ryan was first on the list to go active in the Coast Guard if he wanted. From what I understand, it's an honor because out of all the reservists at the Seattle Coast Guard Station, he was the top choice. Ryan has decided that he wants to remain in the reserves because he still wants to pursue a career in the EMT/paramedic/firefighter field. They told him at the Coast Guard that the offer will be standing and that it would be at the Seattle station.
We pray for wisdom for both Ryan and Melissa in their chosen careers. Ryan is planning to move to Salem, Oregon soon after he completes his EMT schooling, provided he can find a job in his field.
