On Saturday, May 2nd we watched with "parental pride" as Melissa graduated Magna Cum Laude from Corban College in Salem, Oregon with a degree in elementary education. The weekend started Friday night with a dessert program/social that was, unbeknownest to us, an awards night. Melissa received her honor cords for her Magna Cum Laude status.
Graduation day was Saturday at 10 a.m. When "Pomp and Circumstance" started playing and Melissa came in, it hit me that she was actually officially a college graduate! It was such a happy occasion and it was a joy to share it with our immediate family, my parents, and the Hancocks. We also enjoyed meeting several of Alyssa's family. They were such fun, and joined us at Paddington's Pizza for lunch.
Congratulations again, my dear Melissa (and Alyssa, too!)!!
