Last night, three of my childhood friends and I met for dinner - Susan Snyder, Vicky (Basher) DeRoos, and Lisa (Garvin) McFarland. Susan, Vicky, and I go back to the early-mid 60s when our parents were friends through church. We grew up together and went to each other's birthday parties. Susan lived down the street from me and we used to do plays, parades, libraries, forts in the neighborhood woods, etc. Lisa came to Grace Church in the mid-70s and we were friends throughout high school, college, and early married life.
Vicky was in town from Wisconsin for her parents' 50th anniversary and arranged the get-together. We met at Applebee's at Southcenter for dinner, then moved to the Cheesecake Factory for dessert. We spent a few hours reminiscing and laughing. We missed our friend, Dori (Wagner) Anderson, as she had commitments to attend to at her home down in Vancouver. We all agreed that we would love to do an overnight or weekend at the ocean next summer when Vicky returns for a visit!
